The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) on June 19, 2026, issued a notification regarding mandatory GST E-Invoices for Battery Waste EPR Certificates from July 01, 2026.
The following has been stated:-
•The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has mandated that all recyclers registered under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022, must upload GST e-invoices for the sale of recovered key battery metals and metal compounds on the Battery Waste EPR Portal from July 01, 2026.
•Recyclers are required to maintain proper sales records supported by GST-linked invoices for generating EPR Certificates.
•Those not yet covered under GST e-invoicing must obtain the necessary registration and comply immediately.
•EPR Certificates generated using invoices other than GST e-invoices will not be accepted after June 30, 2026.
•Any certificates generated based on non-GST e-invoices beyond this date will be treated as false certificates and considered non-compliant under the Battery Waste Management Rules, 2022.
